A show quality puppy means it meets with the AKC standards for the Chow Chow. A pet quality means there is small flaw with the puppy which would disqualify it from being shown. When you purchase a pet quality puppy, you will be informed about it's flaws and whether or not the animal should be bred. Sometimes the flaw is temporary. In that case the puppy may turn out to be a show quality puppy after all.
